Clifford Takes a trip October 30, 2008 My 2.5 year old really likes the Clifford books. The reading and stories are simple and easy to understand.
Not appropriate for these parts January 3, 2008 We're big Clifford fans in my household (as evidenced by other highly positive book reviews! really!). I had high hopes for this classic Clifford from 1966, but we should have skipped this book. The reality is that I have to teach my 4 and 6 year old boys how to react if they encounter a bear (or mountain lion), which is a real probability even in residential areas around here. Picking up and hugging bear cubs has a good chance of leading to your demise. Yes, Clifford saves Emily's day (and life), but it's just inconvenient to have to remind my boys that this is just a pretend story and don't count on Clifford. Time to move on to a Clifford book we can simply enjoy without the safety reminder from Dad.
For Clifford fans a must July 25, 2007 Clifford is such a hero. Having watched more episodes than I like to admit, the Big Red Dog and Emily Elizabeth show what true friendship means. My children love the accompanying audio, which is especially great for expat families or those who do not have immediate access to PBS. Clifford saves the day again in this short book about a family trip that ends up short of disaster, thanks to Clifford!

hopeful December 11, 2002 this book is hopeful because of the fact that he wanted to make sure everything was alright and so he traveled just to do so and they all thanked him in the end of his journey because he saved his owner.
Great for a travel story July 3, 2001 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book on cassette for my 21/2 yr old son to listen to on the airplane, since it was about a vacation. He watches Clifford every day and loves the book. Although, I don't like the part about Emily Elizabeth playing with bear cubs and the mama bear comes along and Clifford saves the day and they are all friends. I think they could have written something different.
